Data Center Drawdown

Connecticut · v1

A data center transparency platform, powered by hydrology.

AI and cloud data centers are being proposed, permitted, and built across Connecticut. This site tracks their water impacts using two things: a transparent, stated estimate of facility water use, and observed groundwater, streamflow, and precipitation data from nearby monitoring stations — plotted against each facility's actual timeline.

Estimate

Estimated facility water use

One transparent estimate per facility: capacity (MW) × published industry water-use ratio for that facility's cooling type, shown as a range. Every estimate displays its formula, its source, and its uncertainty — never presented as a measured fact.

Observed

Time-aligned hydrologic data

Each facility's lifecycle — proposal, permitting, construction, operation — is plotted against observed data from nearby USGS and NOAA monitoring stations. This is observation and timing only. No causal or attribution claims are made.
